If you have licensed, tatooed and microchipped your bull terrier, the chances of finding him/her should they get lost are tripled!
- Alert all members of the Golden State Rescue Committee to your loss. And be sure to call
1-800-BTBT
911 - This is the BTCA's emergency
number for lost or found Bull Terriers. Many shelters and all BT rescue organizations know
about
this number.
- Visit all your local shelters at least every other day. Some shelters only hold dogs for
five
days. The telephone personnel cannot, or sometimes will not, help. Ask about dogs in
quarantine and hospital, or on the deceased lists.
- Advertise your dog in the "lost" ads of your newspaper. And check the "found" ads
daily.
"Pit Bull" ads count, and your dog may have been transported out of your area. Call on every
conceivable possibility.
- Canvass your neighborhood. Don't be shy. Your Bull Terrier isn't! Most lost BTs are
found within a five-block radius of their homes. Offering a relatively small reward to
neighborhood children will result in an amazingly diligent search.
- Check with your mail and newspaper delivery people.
- Put up flyers, with a photo, EVERYWHERE!
- Visit your local veterinarians. Leave a photo of your Bull Terrier and description,
asking
them to call you or Animal Control if your dog shows up at their office.
- DON'T GIVE UP!!!
